error 1604 when restore upgrade iphone 3gs [solved]

I HAVE THE SOLUTION, I tried EVERY troubleshooting idea there was, NOTHING worked for me. I would get stuck at the stupid boot logo, get my phone to connect to iTunes by holding down the home button for 5 seconds then connecting to usb while still holding, but it wouldn’t restore because of error “1604?. Here is the solution. ckidot gan ….

1. Hold down home button for 5 second then plug in usb to phone, while still holding the home button, until the iTunes symbol appears on your phone telling you to connect to itunes.

2. Select the option to restore.

3. you should get to the point where it says “Preparing iphone for restore” then your phone will go into DFU mode DO NOT DISCONNECT. Note: your phone should be ON but it should be ALL BLACK, this is noticable, NOT OFF, just all black. This is where you get hung up on the “1604? error usually.

4. Iphone still connected, press ctrl+alt+dlt and go to processes.

5. Go to iTunes.exe, and end the process

6. Note: your iphone should still be in DFU mode (connected, on, but black)

7. Restart itunes

8.iTunes should reconize your phone

9. Restore again. This time it should restore all the way through with no problems.

10. Run around your house in joy after 2 days of trying to fix your phone, endless frustration, and cursing apple to hell.

iPod touch Unable to update or restore

mudah2an postingan ini bisa membantu teman yang memiliki gadget seperti iphone atau ipod …

berawal dari notifikasi ketika gw mengsynchronize ipod touch gw ke Itune disitu gw di beritahukan bahwa software upgrade 3.1.3 available (red, saat itu ipod gw masih pake software 3.1,2).. dengan penuh rasa penasaran gw akhirnya gw terbujug untuk mengklik tombol upgrade… dan BAMMM hasil nya  “ unknown error upgrade failed” dan parah nya lagi mendadak layar ipod gw ngeblank bisu tak berdaya …(lebay dikit)

kata2 bijak nya .. “jangan panik ketika menghadapi sebuah masalah karna kepanikan hanya menuntup pintu solusi menjadi lebih rapat bahkan tertutup rapat”

dengan bantuan om google dan menyambangim forum2 gadget gw menukan sebuah solusi yang terbukti solve untuk masalah di gw diatas ..ckidot cuy

  1. disconnect kabel usb dari ipod touch atau iphone yang sedang ngeblank akibat upgrade software failed
  2. matikan layar ipod/iphone dengan menekan agak lama tombol home dan tombol switch secara bersamaan sampai keluar logo Apple putih
  3. restart kembali pc/laptop yang di gunakan dan buka aplikasi itune untuk mensyncronisasi kan dalam keadaan restore

  1. ingat selama proses restore kita harus mempunyai line internet yang stabil karna untuk memproses ekstraksi software ada tahap verifikasi ke server apple
  2. jika proses restorasi gagal dan biasa nya di ikuti dengan pesan error seperti “unkown error restor failed (error code 1604)” maka restart aplikasi itune yang di lakukan untuk proses restorasi dan upgrade
  3. kemudian jalankan lagi proses restorasi yang tadi gagal sampai berhasil
  4. keberhasilan proses restor dapat di lihat pada layar ipod terdapat loading apple persis ketika kita baru menghidupkan pc /laptop windows xp
  5. setelah benar2 selesai makan kita aka di tanyakan apakah ipod kita hendak di restore seperti bawaan pabrik atau sesuai kondisi terakhir ketika proses backup berhasil .. “ingat ketika kita memilih kembali ke kondisi awal maka aplikasi yang kita sudah instal akan hilang ..“
  6. setalah proses restore selesai maka ipod /iphone kita bisa kembali di gunakan seperti semula dan bahkan software nya sudah terupgrade (dengan catatan anda sudah melakukan download software update sebelum nya ..)
